It's in no way "small govt. or libertarian" even: in 1900-10 USA was far more laissez faire than would ever be after, and NO ONE would have accepted for companies based on "new tech" of electrification to exclude political opponents...it's insane...

This isn't about Locke but about historical genealogy as practiced by many types of BigBrains, where you try to find ultimate source of what you think is bad now in very remote history and think (or pretend) that by placing that blame you solve problem
This my opinion on Locke:
I'm not a Lockean BUT...Some BigBrains want to blame e.g. Locke as origin of Liberalism and therefore of all our troubles...but Locke was very strong on national sovereignty. Locke would be condemned as a nationalist/nativist/Fascist today (even by e.g. Ben Shapiro).

The only possible explanation for the GOP Senate suddenly deciding they won't support a stimulus before the election (despite spending record amounts over last few years) is that they want to throw this thing and they want Trump out.
