not sure this is true; there are some people very sensitive to criticism, also sensitive to praise; success of his 2nd concerto led to some other VERY good music. Critics destroying his confidence after 1st symphony led to years lost from prime of productive life

I think it's because it's low-key and out of the way of any political events. Like nobody knows about southern Chile. But it's basically all Scandi and German and average of about 55F year-round
