Saw Midsommar...is not as "antiwhyte" as people claim in fact the Nordic pagans come off as superior in almost every way; it destroys American grad students, which was appropriate. Ethnic stuff was just typical Woody Allen neuroticism about Nordic beauty/eugenics, I found funny.

Problem with movie wasn't politics but as with Joker lack of originality; it's just a remake of Wicker Man, even the recent version (which is a very good). Wicker Man remake was brave though in attacking a gynocracy taboo whereas Midsommar is not...

Only reason I bother to mention it, Aster could be good, has right interests and good taste visually but as in Hereditary he fuqqs up...gratuitous scenes of grief, tries to shock on most annoying level...like when directors put crying babby to annoy and unsettle, very cheap

There is no problem as such between nationalism and religious life. Real Trad Cath looks like Franco or Salazar. But it's false when people claim that you HAVE to convert a nation to piety first or that secular don't deserve national life. Hungary, Czech, Japan prove otherwise
The majority of Czechia is non-religious.
Only 12 percent of Hungarian Catholics regularly attend church.
The orthodox countries are also pretty nationalist and conservative but have very low church attendance rates.
