What separates us isn't any lack of enthusiasm for American nationalism on my part. What separates us is my view that a nation isn't a race, that nationalism isn't racism.

The premise Tokyo Shinobi Squad is... disturbingly nationalistic and isolationist. If you replaced Japan with the US as the setting in this story the Shinobi would probably be a white supremacist group like the KKK euphemized as "cowboys" or something. Very uncomfortable read.
