his point has nothing to do with location, it is a question about what kind of person can believe another people has historically oppressed them, mistreated them, continues to do so, and at the same time craves acceptance and a pat on the head from them, instead of independence

The have-it-both ways, "I'm part of this nation but I'm also this really separate thing and demand recognition and acceptance from you" is narcissistic and symptom of lack of honor. Similar for Ashk--honor demands they make aliyah or shut up about supposed discrimination.
