yes California has very strict testing guidelines. By contrast the EU has NO guidelines for export. Almost all olive oil exported from Italy/Greece etc. is not real

Look up "fake olive oil." Most is fake. In Italy you go to jail if you serve fake olive oil, but there are no restrictions for export.
The only 100% sure olive oil is from California and Chile
