David French article also goes "mask off": they can't ban CRT "education" because it would mean also banning guilt-based indoctrination on "Underground Railroad" and the religious interpretation of 1942-5 etc.
Thread on why this article is silly and wrong: David can't seem to get his story straight on why anti-CRT laws are bad. He'll start by saying it's because they're poorly drafted, but when anyone suggests improving them to be more effective, suddenly he's opposed /in principle/

I support awakening normal Americans against travesty of CRT, but even a kid taught 20+ yrs ago was likely to know what Underground Railroad was before could place continents on a map. It's been guilt-inducing "moral" indoctrination for a while now. Are they ready for this fight?

There is some kind of inhouse squabble on the left about value of Marx (as opposed to even dumber postMarxists). But life too short to take your bearings by what academics debate; they have to be part of that "discourse" to get paid. I like read what I enjoy...

In one well written book you get political history of 1200s, the fall and revenge of imperial House of genius, the rise and fall of a world ruler who not, story of Papacy vs Empire, birth of nationalism, conspiracies, etc
But you'd rather read turgid stuff about "alterities"?
If people have little time or limited inclination to read, don’t waste it on theory: just give them a Runciman book. History is a much better teacher than theory. Strongly recommend The Sicilian Vespers. Runciman is a wonderful writer & true history is more amazing than fiction.

completely braindead take. Capital is Marx's masterpiece and completely eclipses anything else he wrote. If you are to read anything by him it would be that and anyone who tells you otherwise is wrong
