My only general advice here and also in book is to become rich and powerful by any means, and outwardly conform as much as you can and in keeping with your character. This is why they all hate me btw because I tell you this, and this what they fear the most.

it's not really a double-edged sword it keeps good people out of instruction/etc. while encouraging drudges and accreditation-seekers (r*asties generally); consumers/clients should do their research. The accreditation is worthless as indication of quality of teacher (or anything)

on this...yes I've seen frog who was state champ in high skrewl and collitch for swimming be UNABLE to do swimming lessons on the side unless went through a 6-month accreditation program so he said fuck it; you know generally who's willing to go through those programs?
Credentialism by the way contributes greatly to the feminized character of modern society, its narrowness and lack of dynamism. Want to become a swimming instructor? Sorry sweetie: you need to attend (and pay for) months of licensing classes. Guilds strangle independence...

Value of a collitch degree much less than it used to be to get a job. That said there's no good replacement for it right now. Telling an 18 yr old to become an "entrepreneur" is terrible advice.
